This job took a great deal of effort. The walls of the shower were laced with metal mesh and inches of concrete and tile. After removing no less than two-thousand pounds of material, we could begin reconstruction. A Schluter Ditra underlayment was installed over the original wooden floor to ensure flexibility in the future and a waterproof shower pan and membrane were installed over new drywall in the shower. Tile was laid throughout, finishing with Schluter edge profiles in the shower, an Italian marble threshold and a glass showed panel. Sheetrock was blended into the original plaster as new fixtures and a fresh coat of paint tied things together.
